Our Philosophy
The mission to document every nonprofit need.
The American nonprofit sector is a massive economic and social engine, employing more than 10% of all U.S. workers and shaping the very fabric of our local communities. Despite this immense footprint, these critical organizations remain vastly underreported and poorly covered by traditional U.S. news media.
Rather than acting as an insider trade publication, our investigative and feature journalism is rigorously crafted to inform the general public about the vital work of charities, foundations, and labor unions nationwide. By distributing our reporting freely to fellow news outlets, we not only provide a definitive record of the organizations driving our society forward, but we actively support local media ecosystems that have been hit hard by modern economic forces.
